How
do you make your money, after all you are a business?
Many telecom companies
make their money on charging for setup and from call charges.
Through the way minutes are bought on the UK telephone network
we are able to take a very small fraction of the call charge paid
by the local rate caller. Rather than taking a large profit from
each customer we offer the service free and take an exceptionally
small percentage, and expect to gain income through quantity.
I
have never heard of you, what happens if you go bust?
This site is a new
brand. It is a subsidiary of our parent company, Cleartech
Consulting, which has been trading since 1994. We issue numbers
on behalf of the main telephone providers and they setup the
network for us. The providers' changes depend on the best
deals available in the market. The numbers are with companies
like BT, Cable and Wireless and Kingston Communications who
are closely monitored by the telecoms regulator. In the unlikely
event of the provider going bust, the numbers will be given
to one of the other major telcos companies to manage. Your
existing contract will not change - there will be no charges
to you.
What
are
these special Numbers?
Some numbers are very
easy to remember. Example 0845 123456. They are very much in demand,
particularly by businesses, and thus market forces dictate that
there is a charge for them. All special numbers are in the numbers
list and are priced clearly.
Does
this mean I loose my current number?
No. The 0845 numbers
are routed to your existing number, so both will work concurrently.
As
I get this service for free, do I loose quality of service?
No. All our numbers
are routed in the same way any telephone company would route them
- most through the BT infrastructure. It is all about the complicated
telecoms charging system: we take advantage of it to offer you
a free service.
If
I move my home line or my office line, do I have to pay to
move the number?
Yes, there is a
£10 charge to move the number from your current line
to another unless you move it in the first three months of
0845 service then its a £20 charge.
Do
the 0845 numbers work on mobiles or other non geographic numbers?
Unfortunately no. They
only work on normal land lines with standard dialing codes.
What
does the voicemail service do?
We offer a service
that allows your calls to be automatically answered by voice
mail, or answered after a certain number of rings. You can
collect the voice mail from any phone, at local call charge,
using its own 0845 number.
